The Virginia Taekwondo Association (VTA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and membership-based association of participating Taekwondo clubs and schools (dojangs) throughout Virginia. VTA is the official USATKD-sanctioned state association for Virginia.
VTA exists to strengthen the taekwondo community in Virginia by promoting excellence in competition, education, and leadership while fostering connections among athletes, coaches, referees, and schools across the Commonwealth.
Important: All VTA members must also maintain current USATKD membership to compete in sanctioned events. VTA membership and USATKD membership are separate requirements.

Requirements: Active business license, USAT-registered club, representative must be 3rd Dan or higher and 18+ years old

VTA is a democratic, member-governed 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation registered in the Commonwealth of Virginia and sanctioned by USA Taekwondo.
Governs the association and is composed of one representative from each VTA-registered club (3rd Dan+, 18+), plus athlete representatives (20%+ of board), plus Executive Board members serving individually.
Handles day-to-day operations. Consists of President (elected by Board of Governors for 4-year term), 3 Vice Presidents, Treasurer, Secretary, plus Athlete Rep, Coach Rep, and Referee Rep (all appointed for 1-year terms).
Through strategic leadership and shared dedication, our committees work to elevate standards, promote values, and expand Taekwondo's reach within our communities. We foster an inclusive, empowering environment that challenges every practitioner to reach their highest potential while building a stronger, united Taekwondo community.
